On 30 April 1971, there appeared on page 33 of the London “Jewish Chronicle” an announcement as follows: “The Governors of the King David High School, Liverpool ... invite applications from suitably qualified teachers for the post of Head of Department of Jewish Studies. Applicants should be conversant with modern educational techniques and capable of developing suitable courses for boys and girls of 11 to 18 years, catering for a wide range of ability and of commitment to Judaism... Applications to Headmaster....”
What is the connection between this announcement and me, Chaim Simons, at the time living as a pioneer in a Military Compound with the aim of re-establishing the Jewish community in Hebron?
This is my story ….
